Important Update: Amazon Purchases No Longer Accepted on Your BRI Benefits Card 
 

We’re reaching out with an important update regarding your BRI Benefits Card.

 

To help protect your account from a recent increase in fraud across the financial services industry, Amazon.com has been removed as an approved merchant for card transactions.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU
  • Your benefits card will no longer work for purchases on Amazon
  • If your card was recently declined on Amazon, this is expected
  • You can still purchase eligible items and submit a claim for reimbursement

WHY THIS CHANGE WAS MADE

Fraudsters are exploiting how Amazon processes transactions in ways that bypass typical verification safeguards. This has impacted many financial institutions—not just BRI. 

 

This change was made as a proactive step to help safeguard your funds.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
  • Continue using your benefits card at other eligible merchants
  • Pay out-of-pocket for eligible Amazon purchases
  • Submit a claim for reimbursement through your member portal

If you believe there are transactions on your account that you did not authorize, please contact us immediately so we can assist.
